Sensor+Test 2018: all4cloud presents IoT Showcase

 In

In June 2018 we will be represented at SENSOR+TEST, the world’s leading forum for sensor, measurement and testing technology. There we will present our latest development in the field of Industrial IoT (= Industrial Internet of Things). You will find us in Hall 5 at the “Special Stand Sensors and Measurement Technology in the Industrial Internet” – Stand 5-106/18.

Sensors and measurement technology on the Industrial Internet

Is IoT also on your agenda this year? You realize what’s important now. According to a study by MarketsandMarkets, expenses for the use of IoT scenarios in industrial production alone will increase to around $890 billion by 2020. By comparison, in 2014 the figure was around $472 billion. We are also feeling this change: More and more companies are approaching us in this respect, demanding the possibility of implementing IoT scenarios with the help of their ERP landscape. The availability of interfaces and solution scenarios for linking IoT devices to enterprise software is becoming an enormously important decision criterion in the evaluation of ERP solutions.

all4cloud’s IoT Showcase

“Machine to service, machine to service” is the idea behind the new IoT scenario from all4cloud. Based on the cloud ERP solution SAP Business ByDesign and the specialized add-on eam4cloud, we have developed a scenario in which the machine itself notifies the service department. The majority of the process is automated. The data is supplied by sensors.

For example: Machines, systems or facade elements equipped with sensors report their states – permanently and without loss of time. Any anomaly or malfunction is immediately apparent and can be eliminated before a customer notices it. Maintenance work can be planned and carried out with foresight. No more forgetting. Another advantage: Service processes can be freed from time-consuming administrative tasks.

After receiving the fault report or maintenance information, the service department can plan the deployment of personnel, resources and spare parts. In recurring standard cases, this is even fully automated. The work order goes to the technician who eliminates the malfunction or carries out the necessary maintenance measures. It then reports all data, such as time spent or spare parts, to the ERP system. This creates an invoice to the customer or – in the case of internal maintenance work – automatically posts the services to the respective cost center. Before the engineer even gets back from his assignment.

Extensive supporting programme

A visit to the internationally oriented measurement technology fair is definitely worthwhile, because Sensor+Test 2018 again offers many exciting programme items this year:

  • Two renowned congresses:
    • the 19th ITG/GMA Conference Sensors and Measurement Systems
    • the European Test and Telemetry Conference ettc2018
  • The presentation of the AMA Innovation Award
  • Exhibitor presentations at the forums including a special sesson on the special topic “Sensor and measurement technology in the Industrial Internet
  • Live demonstrations in the Action Arena
